🐙 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso Semi Automatic Gearbox Problems

This is a common problem on older 4HP14/18 and is caused by 'varnish' and debris on the governor. USually as the fluid warms up they free off. An automated-manual gearbox does not have a governor because all of the control data (road speed, rpm etc) is electronically sensed and the shifting of the transmission is carried out by external actuators. Looking on this site the U1113 code means there is a problem with the communcation between the automatic gearbox and the ABS( ESP). Does anyone have any ideas where to start looking? The automatic handbrake is locked on and my guess is the place to start is the electrical connections/wiring and maybe the ABS. The latest brochure is dated September 2015 and only lists an EAT6 auto gearbox which is probably the latest name for your ETG6 one. A full auto is not listed. In a 12/2013 C4 brochure they had an EGS 6 speed semi auto box but also a 4 speed full auto but only on a petrol car. Had exactly this problem with my semi auto Peugeot 3008 - took it to my local Peugeot garage who quoted me £3900 and car only worth about £4.5k so not really an option!
