🐷 Mazda 6 Dpf Regeneration Procedure
TIP: If you are using a diagnostic tool/scanner, keep an eye on the DPF regen count every week or two. If it is not increasing carry out a static regen. The DPF is expensive to remove for cleaning as it is located between the engine and bulkhead and requires removal of the front subframe and steering rack.
On my way to the lake district in January, 150 miles up the M6, DPF light and check engine light came on, into limp mode. Took to Mazda dealer who said oil level was low, they topped up and performed a DPF regen. Car was fine whilst away but after 80 miles of the return journey, same thing again, half way down the M6.
It may take hours to complete the task once the regeneration procedure has been initiated. In some cases, the DPF must be removed from the vehicle and serviced using a specialized machine that completes the process and disposes of the soot particles appropriately. The DPF is considered regenerated when the soot particles are sufficiently removed.
Parked DPF regen: When the truck requests DPF regeneration, you press a button on the dash to initiate DPF regeneration. Forced DPF Regen: A forced DPF regen is started by a diagnostic scan tool at the dealer level. It is not necessary for these conditions to be perfectly met because doing so will still result in a regeneration. The system
This is how you can clean your DPF filter by starting manual regeneration: -Warm up engine to working temperature or regeneration won't start. -Connect wire to batery - and up right connector
Learn how to regenerate the diesel particulate filter (DPF) of your Mazda6 if the indicator light illuminates or the engine sound and smell change. Follow the steps to drive the vehicle at a speed of 20 km/h or more for about 15 to 20 minutes and contact an expert repairer if needed.
Forscan Service Procedures. I used to self service using the Diagnostic port trick, and depressing the pedals. But on the 2.2 it reset the oil dilution/service counter easily, the hardest part was the forced regen of the DPF. (Which took an hour to initiate) But alas, finally I had a clear DPF. I tried the pedal combination to reset the DPF reset.
5. Next the DPF traps soot. 6. During some truck operations the exhuast is hot enough to burn off soot while driving with no fuel sprayed through the 9th injector, this process is called Passive Regen. Passive regen is happening any time temperature in the DPF is above 800 deg F. 7.
A COMPLETE PROCEDURE IN CORRECT ORDER IS AS FOLLOWS: 1. Check oil quality. Oil quality MUST be good. If the oil quality is poor or very watery you MUST change the oil. 2. Warm up the car, take it for a drive. 3. Conduct DPF Regen. This take approx. 20 – 40 mins. 4. Change Oil and Filer. 5. Reset Oil Counters. 6. Reset DPF Counters. 7.

Your lowest cost option = have the DPF cleaned (which involves removing the DPF, cutting the can open, removing the filter element and rinsing with high pressure cleaner (lots and lots), then let the element dry out, put back in the can, weld it shut and return to the car.)
Hi all, an oil service is coming up for my 2011 mazda 6 2.2d, i have bought the oil and filter. Rather than mazda dexelia dpf 5w30 oil, i bought Shell helix diesel ultra AF-L much cheaper, and a bluprint oil filter ADS72101.
A non-bluetec OM642 has a DPF of 9 L compared to the 3.2 L of the bluetec OM642 and OM651 has a DPF of 3.9 L. The DPF of the bluetec OM642 has a shorter service life vs the other 2 and the primary factor is DPF size vs the output of soot of the engine. The regen intervals and frequency is also different/effected by the size of the DPF.
